A wedding venue among olive groves and vineyards, with the chef's food design as much of a selling point as the spaces themselves. The site had to treat every dish as a piece of design to showcase, not just describe.

Villa Mima is far more than a reception hall: it is a complete sensory experience. The architecture, the Sicilian landscape, the chef's rigorous food design — every element combines to create an atmosphere the website needed to convey before the first contact. Working with Carnova, the challenge was to build a platform that made couples and wedding planners dream from the very first scroll — where every chef's dish is treated as a design object to display, not merely describe.
Compared to Baglio Lauria — another project built for Carnova — Villa Mima had a different positioning: more oriented towards exclusivity, with the chef's food design as the central narrative element. Two sites born at different stages of my professional growth, with completely different palettes and visual approaches.
I developed a visual architecture that foregrounds emotion. The layout gives generous space to the venue's photography and the chef's artistic culinary creations: grid and carousel alternate to create visual rhythm without losing coherence. The choice to give the same visual weight to a dish and a corner of the villa was not accidental — it communicated that the Villa Mima experience is holistic: food is part of the spatial aesthetic, not an ancillary service.
The serif typography chosen harmonises with the location's colours and style: elegant, never cold, with a warmth that echoes Sicilian stone and light. This project taught me to give even more space to design — to trust the image as the primary emotional vehicle, letting text play a supporting role.
The entire site was built on WordPress, ensuring smooth loading despite the high density of photographic content. Time from brief to launch was approximately one month. The user experience was designed to remove every barrier to contact: the form is present and accessible, but never intrusive.
Contact forms and calls to action are positioned organically within the navigation flow, inviting couples and planners to get in touch in a simple, empathetic way. High photographic density is managed with lazy loading and asset optimisation to ensure a smooth experience even on slower connections.
The result is a site that lets the images speak louder than the words — grid and carousel give a dish and a corner of the villa the same visual weight. Compared to Baglio Lauria, another project for Carnova in the same space, the visual maturity shows: same language of Sicilian hospitality, different accent.
