A historic agriturismo a few kilometres from the Valley of the Temples, with two audiences to serve on one site: guests looking for a relaxing stay, and couples looking for a wedding venue. Two parallel paths, one WordPress platform.

Surrounded by olive groves and vineyards near the Valley of the Temples, Baglio Lauria is a charming property combining rural hospitality with the elegance of a wedding and events venue. The baglio — a former Franciscan hermitage acquired by the Lauria family in the 19th century — carries three centuries of history in its stone walls, arches, and pool overlooking the Agrigento countryside. The challenge was to translate all of this into a website that was, above all, emotional.
The complexity of this project lay in the dual audience: guests seeking a relaxing stay, and couples (or wedding planners) looking for an events venue. I structured the information architecture to accommodate both harmoniously — two parallel paths that intersect without ever merging. The stays section emphasises peace and authenticity; the events section uses photography of the pool and outdoor spaces to help visitors picture their perfect day.
The photographic material was generous and high quality — one of the most valuable gifts in a hospitality project. I chose to showcase it with an open, breathing layout, paired with serif/sans-serif typography that echoed the balance between the baglio's history and the contemporary experience it offers. The copywriting alternates emotional narrative and practical information — the reader must feel the scent of olive groves, but must also understand in thirty seconds how to book a room or request a wedding quote.
The entire site was built on WordPress, with particular attention to mobile responsiveness — because someone searching for a special events venue often browses from their phone, in a moment of pause, showing the site to their partner. Every view was designed to be emotional even on a small screen. It was one of my first complex projects, which makes the result all the more meaningful: it shows that attention to detail and listening to context produce solid work regardless of accumulated experience.
A key integration was the external booking link system, which guides visitors from initial inspiration through to availability requests for their stay or event. Contact forms and calls to action are positioned organically and non-invasively, respecting the emotional rhythm of the browsing experience.
The result is a site with two clear paths — stays and events — that never blur together, and a booking system that guides visitors from the first glance to an availability request. One of my first complete projects: proof that attention to detail matters more than experience.
